15 Out of 16 Rapists Free, 1 Out of 1 Rape Victims Not

A 17-year-old girl musters the courage to name the multiple people who sexually assaulted her … only to face time in jail. Wait, what? Am I hearing that wrong?

Seriously, because she named her attackers publicly, she now faces up to 180 days in jail and a $500 fine. Hmm. That seems fair. They rape her, she goes to jail.

Look, I know that being a juvenile means you get confidentiality, but in my opinion, if you sexually assault someone, that person has every right to name you on Twitter, on Facebook, wherever.

If sending this girl to jail isn’t a horrific injustice, then I don’t know what is.
